Masterclasses

At Nox Art Square, we are honored to offer exceptional opportunities for advanced violin students to learn from the esteemed artist and pedagogue Zygmunt Marek Kowalski. A former student of André Gertler and Baron Arthur Grumiaux, Mr. Kowalski served as the concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra of La Monnaie – The Royal Opera House in Brussels – for over 35 years, one of Europe’s leading musical institutions. He is currently a professor of violin at the renowned Royal Conservatory of Brussels.

After completing his studies at the State Higher School of Music in Gdańsk, he won the competition for the position of concertmaster at the Baltic Philharmonic, becoming, at the age of 23, the youngest concertmaster in Poland. As a laureate of the International Competition in Belgrade, he performed on prestigious stages worldwide and recorded over 30 albums. He was the first violinist of the internationally acclaimed Brussels String Quartet and collaborated with distinguished artists, including Leonard Bernstein, Antonio Pappano, Christoph von Dohnányi, Krzysztof Penderecki, Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Muti, Martha Argerich, Gautier Capuçon, Mstislav Rostropovich, and the Béjart Ballet.

As an experienced pedagogue and performer, Mr. Kowalski offers masterclasses that provide a rare opportunity for students to receive expert, personalized guidance. These sessions are available as one-time lessons or on a regular basis and are designed for those seeking to enhance their violin skills—whether they are preparing for conservatory entrance exams, orchestra auditions, or simply striving to refine their technique. In addition to individual instruction, he also supports chamber ensembles, assisting them in their preparation for competitions, exams, and concerts. His deep expertise in ensemble interpretation and shaping a cohesive sound makes his mentorship invaluable for both soloists and chamber musicians. With his guidance, musicians gain the essential tools for success in their artistic journey, developing technical perfection, confidence, and expressive interpretation—key elements in achieving the highest level of performance.

Art Classes

At Nox Art Square, we also offer outstanding visual arts classes, led by the exceptionally talented Barbara Goliasz. A graduate of the renowned L'Ecole Supérieure des Arts de l'image LE 75, Barbara brings her extensive expertise in oil painting, drawing, linocut, installations, and sculpture to our creative environment. Her primary focus remains on the depth and expressive power of oil painting.

Barbara’s group classes in painting, drawing, and sculpture are truly a highlight of our school. Her teaching goes beyond simply imparting techniques; she creates a vibrant, inspiring space where students of all levels—whether beginners or more advanced—feel supported and challenged. Her dynamic approach encourages creativity, exploration, and personal growth, making each lesson a rewarding experience.
